Love Heals All

“We love, because He first loved us.”

Since 2019 began, I have lost three out of four of my grandparents. In this season of loss, I’ve seen a tremendous amount of love poured over all of us. It’s crazy how loss brings people together. I’m starting to see how great loss brings us to our breaking points. Losing someone we love so dearly puts an end to our plans and humbles us to the end of ourselves…and we break. It’s what humans do.

But I am so thankful for this season of loss and my breaking point. Because we realize that all of the [earthly] things that we thought were important and were holding us up really were no match for death. It was at this hopeless moment I realized that the only thing that has overcome death is Love. Love is the greatest gift we have been given because Love defeated death.

Where death brings our breaking point, Love brings our breakthrough. To experience love is to experience heartbreak because we live in a broken world (it is inevitable). But Love heals all. Love always wins. Love breaks down layers of walls we’ve built in our hearts. Love is the bridge that unites people for good.
