Dear false prophets,

I see you. And so does God.

All of us, all people, preach some kind of gospel.

Some people preach a gospel of political correctness, and some preach social justice; while others spend their lives preaching sports and prophesying of their gods. Then there are those who teach physical wellness, the formalities of education, others prophesy of astrology, and some preach mental health tips and tricks (psychology). And of course, there are many people who outrightly preach the vanities of life as their gospel: clothes, food, the love of money, makeup as confidence, gossip, the pride of life, and self-care. There are many more mainstream, secular [false] gospels being preached than what I’ve mentioned, but we will stop here for now.

Whatever gospel(s) you choose to preach and thus attach yourself to in this life will directly affect your occupation in the next life. If you are a follower of Christ, then you should not be preaching any gospel besides Christ crucified (1st Corinthians 1:23). We are called to use our various gifts in this life to administer God’s grace to others and to serve others (1st Peter 4:10), and there are many ways to do this. However, we can encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ without compromising the gospel of the kingdom of God.

I am tired of seeing supposed “Christians” on my timeline teaching their followers lies and how to be like the world. You have set the doctrines of men beside and even above the gospel of the kingdom, conflating and attempting to intertwine your mere human commandments with God’s eternal Word (Matthew 15:9). Perhaps some of you have been innocently deceived, but more than likely (speaking from experience here), you have knowingly believed the lie rather than searching out the Truth, because you prefer the lie (John 3:19).

And that’s your choice! If you would like to spend your short life here on this earth believing lies and never coming to the full Truth, then that is your choice. But know this: the ungodly, religious yoke of unbelief and doubt which you (unbelievers and false prophets) have placed on others will be your ruin; and you will not go on perverting the straight paths of the Lord for long. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You have shut the door to the kingdom of God in peoples’ faces. You yourselves do not enter, and you don’t let others enter either (Matthew 23:13).”

So if you have chosen death and the lie, these words are not for you. But if at any point in your life you have chosen Life (Deuteronomy 30:19), then you belong to the Creator (Colossians 1:13-17). If that is you, then these words are for you. We, as followers of Christ, are called to be different than this world—set a part for good works (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 2:10), the salt of the earth and a city on a hill (Matthew 5:13-14). So before you post again in the digital synagogue (which is social media), I implore you all to stop preaching heresies and other false-gospels, men’s doctrines such as faith in science, self-care and other forms of witchcraft, as well as divination in the form of astrology, the Enneagram test, and other personality tests. “Christians” should and do know better than this, but some of you “Christians” are false sons of God (John 8:42), and so we should be on the lookout for all of these false prophets.

If you were unaware that these practices and others like them originated from the ancient ungodly and pagan nations neighboring Israel, well now you know. If you would like biblical proof, see Deuteronomy 18 and honestly just READ the Bible. See what happens to those who walk away with the rewards of divination in their hands (Numbers 22), or what comes to those who praise idols and the works of mens’ hands (Daniel 5), how the Lord our God drove out these ungodly nations who practiced such abominations and gave their land to His people, commanding them (His chosen people) not to learn or follow the abominable practices of those nations (Deuteronomy 18:12).

Lastly, young believers remember this: when the disciples asked Jesus what would be the sign of His [second] coming and of the end of the age, He replied by saying, “Be careful that no one misleads you,” (Matthew 24:4). Even in Jesus’ day, there were many powerful false prophets proclaiming their lies and half-truths in the public synagogues. They used all kinds of bribery, alluring speech, magical signs, divine charms and other falsehoods in order to deceive all who listened, perhaps even the elect. These false prophets have been blinded due to the insensitivity of their own hearts, led off as captives by the vanity of their own thinking; but this is not what you were taught concerning Christ (Ephesians 4)!

Let us now repent and put away from ourselves all forms of falsehood, impure practices of the flesh, idolatry, and divination. Let us stop looking to the world for guidance, acceptance, glory, and our identity; and let us look to Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-3), being renewed in the Spirit of our minds, speaking truthfully to one another out of love.

“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may support those whose heart is completely His.”
